Front Cover construction stages;
Here you can see my font cover construction stages and summary's of what i have done and what struggles or problems i had whilst completing them.
Stage 1;
Here you can see the first stage of my front page, where i found my font on dafont.com and made the background transparent and added it to my front page. Next i will be finding a main image, which may mean me doing another Photo shoot over the weekend as a lot of my photos are too dark to have as a front page main image.
Stage 2;
Here you can see stage 2 of my construction of my front page, I am using the contents page to ensure my house style and colours are continued throughout my magazine. I will be changing the image as i feel as though it is not strong enough for my front page. I will be doing another shoot this weekend and will be fully completed by the middle of next week.
Stage 3;
Here you can see stage 3 with added exclusive interview font etc...
Double page spread construction stages;
Here you will see my construction stage of my double page spread, each stage i will write a summery of what i had done and whether i struggled or not. Also, what i have learnt.
Stage 1;
Here you can see the first stage of my double page spread construction. In this I have added a large black box to separate the half way line on the double page spread. The large black box is where my text is, to ensure this stands out i used the contrasting colours white and black. I have also created a red box with my headline 'The truth behind the female rock duet' written in white font. These colours all contrast against one another and also support the stereotype colours for the genre rock. It also continues my house colours and style throughout my magazine.
Stage 2;
Here i have added my chosen image for my double page spread. Although, i am having difficulty with enlarging it on the version of Photoshop at home so i will be doing this at college. I have edited the photo to ensure it isn't to dark and is clear who it is and what they are doing. The dark lighting and closed, although confident and possibly aggressive body language and serious facial expressions within the image supports the stereotype of the angry and aggressive genre of music rock.
Stage 3;
Stage 4;
Here you can see stage 4 of my double page spread construction. On this stage i have figured out how to enlarge images and font on this version of Photoshop. I have added the introduction paragraph and strap line in a white font. Now my aim is to try and construct it to look more appealing and more like a magazine feature as it isn't aesthetically pleasing at the moment.
Stage 5;
Here you can see stage 5 of my double page spread construction. I have moved the text and images around and will continue doing this until i am happy with the full outcome.
Here you can find my double page spread feedback typed up, from Steph, a media teacher;
Steph Feedback for double page spread;
Things to improve;
-
To make my text into three columns rather than two as it will look
more professional and the font will then be a better size on the page.
-
Also, to lighten my image and ensure that there isn’t a clear
division between both sides of the page. So to blend in the image to make it
look more as one.
Things she liked;
-
The image itself matched the genre well, due to body language,
poses and facial expression.
-
The font related to the genre rock well too.
-
The colour scheme worked well.
I will take these comments in mind when editing my double page spread to match my genre well and ensure it looks more professional.
Stage 6;
Stage 7;
Here you can see i have separated my two columns now into three to make a more professional appearance for the magazine.
Stage 8;
Here you can see where i have added the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter links for Beckoning Trouble. This advertorial technique will gain more fans etc online. It also filled the space in the bottom right hand corner and creates, again, a more professional look for the magazine. This is my final double page spread.
Final, correct double page spread article:
As I had difficulties with gathering all my work back that I had previously lost, due to problems with my memory stick, I have rewritten my double page spread article and below you can find this. Whilst writing it I referred back to my feedback i had received from my first one to ensure it was a lot better then the other one and would appeal to my target audience a lot better.
Contents page construction stages;
Here you can see the first stage of me constructing my contents page draft, the main image I have used at the top of the page and then my Contents heading and font at the top left hand corner.
Here you can see my second stage but also having exclusive interview written in red at the bottom to stand out and draw the readers attention to it.
Here you can see my third stage of where i have added images down the side and started to fill in what is going to be included in my magazine. I will continue to develop the contents and then add headings under the other images i have added on the right hand side.
Here you can see the fourth stage of my contents page, i have added my page numbers and what's included in my magazine although i need more work on making it more tidy and adding more page numbers. I also need to add headings underneath my images on the right hand side.
Here you can see stage 5 where more contents are included all that's left to do now is a couple more content pages and subheadings below the images on the right.
Here you can see stage 6 of my construction of my contents page, i have now put subheadings underneath my images. i have also organised my folders within my documents.
Here you can see stage 7, where i have experimented with my background and edited the font and boxes and now they just all need to be aligned. I'm still not happy with the look of my contents page yet so i will continue to edit it until i am happy with my final construction.
Here you can see stage 8 of my contents page construction. I have changed the colour of the background and blended the image into it so the image and contents isn't separated. I have also added an editorial not and i will now change the sizes of the images and the font on the right hand side. Then i think i would have finished and will be happy with my final Contents page and will be ready to gain feedback.
Here you can see my contents page with some more improvements and i am beginning to like this a lot more.
Article Feedback;
Here is my article feedback, overall there was a positive response. Although, a lot of the comments included were to add a brief explanation of the article before going straight into the questions. Another piece of constructed criticism was to shorten the answers as they do tend to go on. There was also a point of making the questions more interesting and fun to hook the target audience. To ensure these improvements are made I am rewriting my article all together and will re-upload it and ensure that another feedback sheet is filled out. This will ensure my article is up to the right standard and will make sure my target audience will be interested in the subject. This will be done over the weekend. this will definitely improve my construction of my music magazine.
Images for final construction of Revolution magazine;
Here you can see all the images I took for my magazine, bad and good. Although, I'm not happy with these images so i am going to be taking more this weekend and create my article at home using photoshop.
Final images for construction of Revolution magazine;
I am a lot happier with this shoot and will use many images from both shoots. I am glad i did two because this gives me more choice and also choice between day and night images.
